April 1st I flew to Boulder to join my cousin Pete for a couple of days fishing on the western slopes of the Rockies. First day we drifted the Roaring Fork River with a guide, the second day we shore fished the Frying Pan River on our own. Fishing was successful on both days.
For those unfamiliar with the area, we were in the vicinity of Aspen and Glenwood Springs. Beautiful country, with VERY unpredictable weather. Mid-fifties and dry on Wednesday, broken clouds the next morning followed by blizzard like weather on the river (time to break for lunch), and then bright blue skies in the afternoon!
Back to Boulder on Friday for the Colorado Rockies home opener (they lost) under blue skies and 75 degrees!
